About
Patricia Durell (she/her) is a writer, sexual health educator, and fermentation enthusiast. She has a BA in both Political Science and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She also graduated with a minor in English Literature because no one would join her book club. Her most worn sources of inspiration are: the Great Lakes, soup recipes, bread making, angry women, loving conflict, book dedications, having her feelings hurt, dinner table conversation, paragraphs in her notes app and voice memos she doesn’t remember creating, the string bass and harmonica, secret languages and bits gone too far, playing outside, and anything that makes her friends laugh really hard.

Patty writes poems, short stories, creative nonfiction, and one exceptionally bad play last summer wherein a styrofoam cup represented life’s grand meaning. Her work has been described as “unlikely but provocative”, “heartbreaking (good)”, and “funny for a girl.” Patty is currently based out of her green Subaru but will lie and say Northern Michigan. She spends as much time swimming as possible.
